South Middle School student receiving his Chromebook from staff member

South Middle School students received their Chromebooks today!

Students were issued a brand new, Lenovo N23 Yoga touchscreen Chromebook to not only use at school but at home as well. Increased access to technology for learning (flexible learning environment) is one of the district's main initiatives in its Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. The increased access to technology allows for learning to happen beyond the walls of the classroom and gives students access to wide variety of apps and other resources. The same monitoring and filtering of the Chromebook that is currently in place at school will also remain for when the Chromebook is used at home.

The district will not be providing any type of additional case or cover for the Chromebook.

Please check out our new
Chromebook Informational Website to learn more about the Chromebook, read frequently asked questions, view the Chromebook Handbook, and view additional parent resources.

Just a few friendly reminders:
- chargers should stay at home. Students should bring the devices charged each day to school.

-we are working on getting some vinyl stickers to identify the devices but please don’t decorate your device.

-if your student didn’t recieve a Chromebook, we need two things: $25 insurance fee and Chromebook Handbook agreement. This may be done online (Eleyo) or in person.

-- usage is monitored by the district both at home and at school.
